1-2 BODY: A description of Taoist Mindful Walking as a means of cultivation. Essentially, this is a moving meditation. The various minute physical actions required to take a step are treated with full attention and equanimity. As the bodymind becomes distracted, the Cultivator gently brings his attention back to monitoring his walk. This kind of activity is said to purify the consciousness and organize the bodymind.
3-4 BODY and MIND: An authentic life is an unlearning process. The idea of a "relaxed wanderer" implies a deep connection to the land and nature.
5 BODY and MIND: Suggesting life, rather than making demands on it, helps the Taoist overcome
blockages and resistance to the Tao Source. Simply put, you cannot force the Tao Way of Life to manifest.
You can, however, allow it to appear.
6 BODY and MIND: The bodymind must embrace the force and flow of life.
7-9 BODY and MIND: This stanza uses the image of a banquet to make the point of allowing things to unfold naturally. The banquet in question takes place within the bodymind of the Cultivator.
